Hailing from Des Moines, Iowa, Grace Decious, formerly mezzo-soprano, transitioned to the Soprano Fach in early 2022. She currently studies as a Soprano privately under the tutalege of Bruce Brown. Her most recent roles include Prince Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus and Die Dritte Dame in Die Zauberflöte at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She was also engaged in the ensemble of Knoxville Opera’s production of Arrigo Boito’s Mefistofele as a chorus member. In the summer of 2021, Ms. Decious studied in the Sewanee Operafest program under the direction of Laura Brooks Rice. In Ms. Decious’s undergraduate career, she was featured in Simpson College’s production of The Magic Flute portraying The Third Lady, Pirates of Penzance portraying Edith, Prima la musica e poi le parole portraying the role of Eleonora, and was featured in Simpson College’s production of Prospera’s Island as the title role.
